A new chair
51The Ab-Lounger
The Ab-Lounge wasn't designed for me, or at least the things I use it for. I bought the thing for it's intentional purpose, to make my abs look good. I tried it out for a few weeks and then just put it away. It remained in my office folded up and constantly getting in the way. One night while I was playing a video game. My neck started hurting and my head got really heavy. So I got up and saw the Ab-lounge doing what it has been doing for about five years, sitting there next to my shelf with my video games on it. I thought to myself, "Hey that thing has a high back." I unfolded it and started to play my game again. As I sat in the "new" chair my neck began to hurt less.
I continued to play MW3 and as the night went on I found myself loving my ab-lounge. I could play games with my head resting on the high back. Well as I was waiting for another round of team death match to start I had to perform a sit-up to get a drink of my coffee. Hey I was working out now too! All was good until my wife came in and seen me. She started to laugh and ask why I was sitting in the ab-lounge. Now it might not seem that funny to you (yeah-right, a guy sitting in an ab-lounge while playing a game, what a waste), but remember, I was playing a game with other people and I have a nice set of headphones with a very sensitive microphone. The guys on my team heard her and the comments started coming in. The laughter helped me with my pains (see I play games when I hurt, it's kind of a distraction from them) although our team lost the next few rounds. I still have to do at least a crunch or two just to get a drink.
